Summer Activities Program

The Summer Activities Program offered by Lake Junaluska offers a way for residents and visitors to the lake to find community and make memories with events throughout the season.  Activities range from morning devotions to s’mores by the fire. Made possible through charitable giving, the program includes events for all ages and is a great way to connect with the Lake Junaluska family.  Check out our 2023 schedule below. Additional events may be added, so check back soon and subscribe to updates below.

Monday Morning Devotions
8:30 a.m. | Harrell Center back balcony

Join us for morning devotions led by our visiting theologians in residence on the Harrell Center back balcony on Mondays at 8:30 a.m. Come early for conversation and connection!  Junaluska Gifts & Grounds nearby opens at 8 a.m.

Yoga at the Lake
6:30 p.m. Tuesdays | Inspiration Point | June 27-Aug. 17 (Not held July 4) 

Take in fresh air and scenic long-range views when you join Waynesville Yoga Center teachers for yoga at Inspiration Point near Lambuth Inn this summer. Mixed Flow Yoga will be Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Learn more and pay for classes online at the Waynesville Yoga Center website.


Bonfires & S’mores
8 p.m. Thursdays  | Shackford Firepit | June 29-Aug. 17

Relax by the fire at our family-friendly summer bonfires at the Shackford Firepit. We provide everything you need to roast marshmallows and make S’mores!

QiGong for Energy and Vitality | Nourish Soul, Mind and Body
9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturdays  | Outdoor Lawn Near Memorial Chapel | July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 & Aug. 5, 12 & 19

Marga Fripp, a Certified Qigong Teacher and Healing Arts Practioner, will lead outdoor QiGong classes as part of Lake Junaluska’s Summer Activities Program. Classes are $25 per person (cash or Venmo).

 

Summer Worship Series
9 a.m. Sundays | Lakeside Tent | June 25-Aug. 13

All are welcome this summer at the lakeside white tent near Stuart Auditorium at 9 a.m. for Sunday outdoor worship services with our theologians in residence. A limited amount of seating is available, and attendees may bring their own chairs.
