Haywood Hospice & Palliative Care Celebration of Life

The annual Celebration of Life, hosted by Haywood Hospice & Palliative Care, will be Thursday, Oct. 6, starting at 4 p.m. near the Lake Junaluska Memorial Chapel. The event will be held outside the chapel under the white tent. This year’s theme is “A Celebration of Life: Gathering the Harvest of Memories.”

“We open our memorial service to our hospice families and to anyone in our community who has lost a loved one over the past year,” states Andrea Rodgers-Ray, RN, and Haywood Hospice Executive Director,

Hospice Chaplain Patrick Davis will speak on the different seasons of life and how we associate memories of our loved ones with the changing seasons. Attendees will contribute to The Memory Tree, writing down memories of loved ones during different seasons to hang on the tree. Chaplain Davis will introduce the different seasons of life.

“It’s a beautiful experience when people who are grieving come together to connect with nature and each other,” Davis stated.

“We are honored to offer grief programs for free to anyone in our community,” he added.

The event is sponsored by Haywood Hospice & Palliative Care and the Haywood Healthcare Foundation.
