Become a Friend of the Lake! When you give to Lake Junaluska through the Annual Fund, your gift joins with thousands of others to fund the vital resources needed throughout the year so that each day guests can fully experience Lake Junaluska.

Many of the most beloved activities and experiences at Lake Junaluska have no natural funding source. When donors ask how they can best support the mission of Lake Junaluska, the answer is simple: give to the Lake Junaluska Annual Fund. Whether helping buy seeds for the gardens or pay travel expenses to bring inspiring speakers to youth retreats, the Annual Fund provides critical financial support to sustain and enhance Lake Junaluska for all to enjoy – now and for many years to come.

Plus, you can designate your gift to one of five areas of support, making it easy to give to what means the most to you.

“We want others to experience what we and our children and grandchildren have, and we want to contribute to Lake Junaluska so that it thrives, continues to be strengthened, and can offer a variety of opportunities for other families.” — Janet Leeland

“With my background in ministry, I know that you always need more money than you have to do what’s necessary. The lesson is that every gift is important. We are not the biggest donors, but we give every year, at different times, and for different purposes. We love Lake Junaluska.” — Paul Young

“We’ve always felt at home at Lake Junaluska. …Of all the places we donate to, Lake Junaluska is always so grateful. You want to help people and give of your time, money and gifts, so it’s nice to feel like it’s appreciated and needed and going to the right place.”  — Kathy Terry

CHARITABLE EVENTS

We invite you to participate in one of these meaningful events throughout the year.

Friends of the Lake 5K

Held annually, the Friends of the Lake 5K Road Race & Walk is a charitable event to support the recreation opportunities of Lake Junaluska. All proceeds from the event go to the Annual Fund to assist with the preservation and improvement of the recreation areas at Lake Junaluska, which annually costs over $375,000.

Floating Lanterns

As part of Lake Junaluska’s multi-day annual Independence Day Celebration, staff and volunteers place floating lanterns on the lake during one evening of the event. Each lantern carries a name in remembrance or in honor of a loved one. Charitable gifts made to Lake Junaluska to have a loved one’s name placed on a lantern will be accepted online through a special Floating Lantern form before the event.

All are welcome to the lakeside to enjoy, celebrate and admire this enchanting and meaningful display.

Brick Walk

Bricks engraved with names and meaningful messages line the beloved Brick Walk in The Colonnade. Many of the bricks have been given in honor or in memory of friends and family members who love Lake Junaluska. New bricks are installed annually in late summer and celebrated at an annual dedication ceremony.

A brick can be engraved and added to Lake Junaluska’s Brick Walk for a donation of $140. Proceeds from your contribution will support the mission of Lake Junaluska.

Please note current brick donations are for the 2024 brick installation.
