Join us by the campfire on Thursday, July 23, at 8 p.m. with Shannon LeMaster-Smith for storytelling and music that will leave you laughing with foot-tapping fun. We end the evening with marshmallow roasting and new friends. The fire pit is located just below Shackford Hall.
About our storyteller:

Rev. Shannon LeMaster-Smith is an ordained Deacon currently serving as the Youth & Children’s Ministry Strategist of the Western NC Conference UMC. She makes music under the artist name Shannon Milea. Milea is her middle name, and as the song she wrote “Middle Name” states, her dad always called her Shannon Milea “with a smile on his face.” She makes music to honor his memory, to process grief and faith, and to share gratitude for the many blessings in life. Her musical style is “whimsical folk” and she especially loves sharing music with young people to help them explore who God is and how the Holy Spirit is working in their lives. Check her music out on all streaming platforms and come ready to sing!
What to Bring
- Seating: While we have some seating available, it’s limited! We highly recommend bringing your own chair to ensure you’re comfy.
- Snacks and Drinks: Feel free to pack your own favorite snacks and beverages to enjoy during the performance.
- Layer Up: Pack a light jacket, sweatshirt or sweater. Mountain evenings can get quite chilly after sunset.
- Lighting: Grab a flashlight to help you navigate safely once the event concludes after dark.
See you by the fire!
