More about the Rev. Dr. Priscilla Pope-Levison

Priscilla Pope-Levison, award-winning author, historian, pastor, higher education administrator and professor, has a heart for the ancient yet contemporary Christian practice of evangelism. In her book, Models of Evangelism (Baker Academic, 2020), she gathers together her decades-long experience of teaching, speaking and writing into a compelling and coherent one-stop shop for all things evangelism.

Models of Evangelism was named a Top Five Book on the Jesus Creed Blog and Resource of the Year in Theology and Biblical Studies by Outreach magazine in 2020. Priscilla has received two million-dollar grants—one in youth ministry and one in testimony as community engagement—from the Lilly Endowment for her work to revitalize congregations. She is a past president of the Wesleyan Theological Society and the Historical Society of the UMC. In 2022, she received the Distinguished Service Award from the General Commission on Archives and History and in 2025, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Wesleyan Theological Society.
