Registration open for fall ukulele retreat at Lake Junaluska with award-winning Stu Fuchs

Join us for an enriching Mountain Strings Ukulele Retreat with ukulele “minstrel” and gypsy jazz guitarist Stuart Fuchs on Sept. 11-14, 2025, at Lake Junaluska, as part of its Artists-in-Residence program. The retreat is for people of all ukulele skill levels.

Fuchs will also perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Harrell Center. Admission is $25.

Fuchs is an award-winning musician and teaching artist who has played music across the globe, including Django Reinhardt’s gypsy jazz with symphony orchestras, workshops at ukulele festivals and yoga retreat centers. His “ukulele Zen” workshops and retreats are a beautiful blend of mindful practices and playful, holistic music instruction, perfect for musicians of all levels. 

His passion for bringing healing through music has touched the lives of many. Fuchs was awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for his work bringing healing music to cancer patients. His artistry extends to performing with symphony orchestras and touring with renowned sacred chant artist Snatam Kaur, contributing to her Grammy-nominated album “Beloved.”
