Winter youth retreats offer two ski/programming weekends in 2026.

Second ski/program weekend added to winter youth retreats

Dec. 3, 2025

Lake Junaluska has changed the date of the third 2026 ENCOUNTER Winter Youth Retreat to Feb. 13-16, which is Presidents’ Day Weekend. The move was made in part because youth groups wanted a second ski/program option for Lake Junaluska’s popular winter youth retreats.

The theme for 2026 ENCOUNTER Winter Youth Retreats is Unshakable Faith. The three sessions are:
Jan. 16-19, Martin Luther King Jr. weekend: Featured speaker Chris Singleton is a former professional baseball player-turned-inspirational speaker and best-selling author following the loss of his mother in a racially-motivated shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015. Stapleton has shared his message of unity and racial reconciliation with NFL and NBA teams as well as multiple Fortune 500 companies.

Lake Junaluska’s simplified pricing for the Jan. 16-19 weekend starts at $273 per person and includes three nights and seven meals. Optional snowboard and ski passes start at $115.

Jan. 23-25 and Feb. 13-16: Featured speaker Andrew Mochrie is theology and service director for the Ministry Leadership Center and has served in congregational youth ministry for two decades.

Lake Junaluska’s simplified pricing for the Jan. 23-25 weekend starts at $193 per person and includes two nights accommodations and four meals.

Simplified pricing for the Feb. 13-16 weekend starts at $273 per person and includes three nights and seven meals. Optional snowboard and ski passes start at $115.

Youth groups may also schedule their own retreats at Lake Junaluska.
