Award-winning Balsam Range, Haywood County’s bluegrass band with an international following, will perform Thursday, July 2, at Lake Junaluska’s historic Stuart Auditorium. Opening act will be Upstream Rebellion—another local talented band made up of highly skilled college musicians—who will open the show at 7 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at https://www.itickets.com/artists/22696.
A barbecue meal will be available for purchase from 6-8 p.m. near the Lakeside White Tent for $25 for adults and $12.50 for children ages 5-12, plus tax and gratuity. Children ages 4 and under eat free. Pay at time of purchase.
With numerous International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards, including “Entertainer of the Year” and “Album of the Year,” Balsam Range delivers performances that showcase its exceptional talent and deep connection to bluegrass traditions. Their roots go deep in Haywood County while their fan club spans the globe.
Upstream Rebellion is a six-piece bluegrass band formed by college students all while still in school. Members include Walker Ballance, mandolin; Max Rogers, banjo; Andres Bivens, guitar; Jared Wills, bass fiddle/upright bass; and Cooper Franklin, dobro.
