Celebrate Lake Junaluska Day on Thursday, June 25

June 2, 2026

Hey, Western North Carolina – show your love for Lake Junaluska as we celebrate its 113th birthday on Thursday, June 25, with a bell ringing, social media posts, photos and more.

Each year on June 25, we celebrate and support this sacred place where soul, mind and body are transformed.

We invite all those who love this special place to make an impact in three powerful ways: pray for the mission and ministry of Lake Junaluska, share why you love Lake Junaluska on Facebook and Instagram and give a special gift to the Annual Fund so that all who visit Lake Junaluska can experience renewal.

We will begin our day with individual prayer. You can find the 2026 Lake Junaluska Day Prayer written especially for Lake Junaluska Day by Bishop Paul Leeland, retired bishop of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, at https://bit.ly/LJDay2026.

Then join us at 11:30 a.m. near Stuart Auditorium as we ring the Weatherby Bell 113 times to honor this special day and support Lake Junaluska.

We urge you to drop by our Lake Junaluska Day selfie station outside of Stuart Auditorium before we ring the Weatherby Bell to snap a selfie with our birthday photo frame and then post it online to share your love of Lake Junaluska. Add the hashtags #lakejday2026 and #lovethelake to the text of your posts to highlight your participation in Lake Junaluska Day.

Throughout the day, we will post photos, videos and stories on social media platforms to share how the mission and ministry of the Lake is meaningful in people’s lives. Together, our collective prayers, storytelling and donations will strengthen Lake Junaluska as a place of Christian hospitality for years to come.
