Lake Junaluska's Memorial Chapel will be the site of Lenten services.

Area preachers to lead Lenten services at Memorial Chapel

Lenten services will be held each Wednesday during Lent at Lake Junaluska’s historic Memorial Chapel and include a Maundy Thursday and Good Friday service.

The services, which will include communion, will be at noon and again at 6:30 p.m. starting on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18, and continue on Feb. 25 and March 4,11,18 and 25. There will be services at 6:30 p.m. only on Maundy Thursday, April 2 and on Good Friday, April 3.

  • Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18:  The Rev. Jed Tate, Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesville

  • Wednesday, Feb. 25: The Rev. Dianne Donald Lawhorn, Maggie Valley United Methodist Church, Maggie Valley

  • Wednesday, March 4: TBA

  • Wednesday, March 11: The Rev. Beth Crissman, Smoky Mountain District Superintendent, United Methodist Church

  • Wednesday, March 18: The Rev. Ray Hausler, Love First Community and Morning Star United Methodist Church, Canton

  • Wednesday, March 25: The Rev. James Marsh, Fincher’s Chapel and Mount Zion United Methodist Churches, Clyde

  • Thursday, April 2, Maundy Thursday: The Rev Ben Shaeffer, Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church, Waynesville

  • Friday, April 3, Good Friday: A Service of Quiet Reflection
